Intersecting Internationalism: Amplifying International Students’ Experiences through Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives

From Live Session on April 8, 2020

    Session Description:

Within the last decade, the work of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) departments have seen significant strides throughout universities across the United States. While some schools have robust programming, many aren’t considering the needs and voices of international students. This webinar will outline different initiatives by US institutions that include, or are geared towards, the diversity and inclusion of international students. The goal of international student D&I programing is to invite them into the conversation and provide a safe space to explore and adapt to their new surroundings. The panelists will also discuss other considerations when developing and implementing these initiatives.

        • Danielle Hussey, Assistant Dean of Pluralism and Leadership, Office of Pluralism and Leadership – Dartmouth College
        • Catherine Marte, Member Services – AIRC
        • Gabriella Pires Santoro, Incoming Exchange Coordinator and Study Abroad Advisor – University of Connecticut
