Upon conclusion of the program, you’ll be positioned to support and lead your institution or organization in strengthening all four of DA Global’s core practice areas: Global Engagement Strategy Student Safety & Duty of Care Access & Opportunity People Development & Success Developed in collaboration with higher education leaders in global education, inclusive excellence, and student and academic affairs, the Certificate focuses on your interpersonal growth, the exploration of emerging trends, and the acquisition of the competencies needed to affect sustainable change — in how your institution builds the case for global engagement, safeguards every student’s experience, broadens access to global opportunity, and develops the practitioners who deliver it all. For your institution, it strengthens the infrastructure behind all four practice areas that determine whether global engagement is strategic, safe, accessible, and well-led: Global Engagement Strategy — building the institutional case that connects global engagement to retention, first-destination success, and leadership priorities. Student Safety & Duty of Care — strengthening pre-departure preparation, risk assessment, and support systems that account for the full range of student identities and destinations. Access & Opportunity — building the outreach, funding strategies, and holistic support systems that let students participate in global engagement regardless of background, financial situation, or prior exposure. People Development & Success — building the individual capacity and operational standards that let the practitioners leading this work do it well and sustainably. For you individually, the program broadens your perspective and builds a skill set you can apply immediately to strengthen institutional case-making, duty of care frameworks, access barrier assessment, and your own professional development as a global education leader. Benefits of the Certificate Certificate participants will demonstrate an understanding of the principles of global inclusive excellence and how to apply them to expand access and strengthen the people delivering global education. Opportunities will be provided to build professional networks with like-minded colleagues across institutions. Participants who complete the certificate program will be able to: Demonstrate their understanding of global inclusive excellence as perceived through their individual and unique experiences. Engage in critical discussion about addressing access, belonging, and inclusion within international education. Build and apply skills to improve intercultural communication. Create a personal action plan for continued learning, growth, and professional development. Program Format The 9-week virtual program is cohort-based and led by a qualified facilitator. Content includes webinars, videos, articles, journal entries, quizzes, scenarios, and phone/online discussions — all designed to promote self-discovery, experiential learning, and applied practice. Exercises are shared with a conversation partner, the facilitator, or the full cohort depending on the module topic. Participants receive pre-readings before the program begins.
